I replaced the tires on my Chevy 1950 4400 1 1/2 ton truck. I encountered the same thing with modern, city-slicker type tire stores. Then I found an old-fashioned tire dealer in hillbilly country. He had a cage to protect from the flying parts and did the whole thing for me--never thought anything about it. The tires cost $107 apiece, I believe. But they were the first new ones this truck ever had in all its 67,000 miles.
