New Process trans ID? tilt cab!

I just bought a 69 GMC tilt-cab firetruck. The trans is an NP435. The shifter linkage is in truck, but top of trans is gone. It's a special two lever cover. Anyone tell me what trans I have by the cast numbers? I need to know if I have the forward or rearward move to reverse. I am going to find a regualar cover from p/up to try the trans, see if it runs or shifts.

C-95948 K is on right side
18 7? is on left side, may be a cast date

What year trans? what direction reverse? My manual is for older truck. It shows forward for reverse, but owner's manual from 65 shows backwards for reverse. Any sites to look for info on NP's? Anyone have one of these trucks, wish to sell a cover or maybe whole trans? If whole trans, needs to be nearer Indiana, shipping is a killer on them, I know, I have sent some.
