Long bed on a short truck - make it tilt?

Posted by D13 on September 24, 2003 at 18:01:27 from (216.234.108.55):

87 GMC 6500, previous owner torched dump off, 13' frame left. Found a 20' flat bed, headache rack, bumper and all. Thinking that I should build a new pivot mount at the 13' mark and put a hoist on it, this would make a real nice tilt bed to haul my toys. I don't need full frame support as I will put the back end on the ground when I load, and I don't have anything heavy enough to damage 7' of unsupported bed. It'll be handy for all of my old farm equipment (junk).

what do you think?
