64 Ford with 223Posted by dhermesc on July 22, 2003 at 14:44:02 from (65.141.163.216):
I have a 64 Ford 223 with extremly low vacuum (nearly unregisterable). At time times going down the road the truck will backfire! I had thought it was due to fuel starvation but now I think the vacuum advance on the timeing isn't working. Is this a possibility and can it be due to the head? A head from a 57(?)223 I6 was installed and the combustion chamber on the older head is larger then the original.
