Ford Explorer Brakes

Sorry for the off-topic post here, but the wife has a '99 explorer XLT. The ABS light has came on recently, but the brakes still seem fine.

1. Is this going to be a major deal (i.e. Expensive)? Or is it something I could handle as a "shadetree"

2. Is there a forum somewhere whose topic is Ford Explorers? I looked on Yahoo & Google & didn't find much.

All guidance is appreciated!
Thanks!

Tommy D.
