Seeing these old chevies come up on farm sales often, they will seldom bring over a grand in good running shape with a 12 foot box with hoist. If the engine is bad, and with rusty floors, might be easier to hoist the wrecker unit onto another chevy chassis. But like the guy said, absolute top speed isn[t going to be much over 60. They were much more comfortable around 40-45, loaded or not. Friend has a 5ton 4x4 50 chevy, it hasn't generated a whole bunch of interest. John in Ne.
