Looking for a little more powerPosted by Josh on March 03, 2003 at 17:25:16 from (166.66.137.85):
I have an '84 F-150 with a 300 engine, auto transmission and 3.08 gears in an 8.8 rear. I use it regularly to haul hay and produce to the auction, as well as pulling hay wagons and farm machinery around as I farm a little ground away from home. It isn't very powerful and I would like a little more. Will taking the catalytic converter off do anything? I was thinking of one of three things to help with power. Lower gears (3.73?), 4 barrel carb, or camshaft. Which of these will give the most bang for the buck? Will a 4 barrel give more power or just burn more gas? Thanks a lot for your help.
