Eaton 2-speed question

[ View Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Return to Forum ]

Posted by poorerbut on February 03, 2003 at 11:35:46 from (207.0.239.124):

How important is the outer rubber seal on an Eaton
2-1/2 ton rear end ? (the outer axel seal) Mine
seems ok, but how reliable is 50 year old rubber?
Can I get by with just adding a thin gasket to the
axel flange to the hub with some fastblack?
Appreciate some expertise / experience. Thanks.
