1961 Chevy pick upPosted by Rick on January 04, 2008 at 12:49:54 from (66.17.34.96):
I have a 1961 chevy pick up with a 235 six cylinder that is not running well. The engine will idle for days but when I get going in third gear it acts like it is running out of gas and spits back and shuts off. I have cleaned the tank, changed the coil, changed to an electric fuel pump, changed plugs wires, points, condenser, and the engine still dies when there is a load put on it. My next step is to change to an HEI distributor but if anybody has had this problem and can give me some answers I would really appriciate it. Thanks
