1986 GMC 7000 Power Steering Box

The steering box on my Gmc 7000 is very loose at the bearing for the sector shaft. It doesn't leak oil but I'm sure thats next. I'm assumming if I took it apart the shaft or box would be damaged and too expensive to repair. Any ideas?
