My 74 F 100 has a 16 inch steering wheel, but has power steering. They made the big wheels in those years so that, if you didn't have power steering, it would be easier to turn the wheels with that "extra leverage". ---In my case, with power steering, it made steering too sensative and squirrely. --I took the steering wheel off of a 91 F 150 and put it on. It fit fine. The 91 wheel is just 15 inches. It's hard to describe the difference that made. The steering is much more stable now, and not as squirrely. Looks good too.
