1951 Chev 2-Ton dump questions

Hi Folks;

I've been offered a mint condition 1951 2-ton Chev dump truck, with 6-cyl engine. It's ex-Canadian Air Force, with 43,000 miles on it.
1. Does anyone know what this vehicle might be worth? I've trolled through the internet, but can't find anything similar. Asking price is CAN$10,000 or US$8,000.
2. The truck's a 10 hour drive from me, in northern Ontario. I'll therefore have to buy it sight unseen. Can these trucks keep up with modern traffic? What kind of speed will it cruise at on the highway? The horsepower seems to be about 92 from what I can find, so I don't expect much. I'd love to tow with it (car trailer with our 1958 Triumph sports car on board), but I have a feeling the truck couldn't cope, especially on hills. Any comments? Thanks; Tim
