Be real careful when connecting the battery as it will fry some hard-to-find electrical equipment if hooked up wrong. I have a 1953 R-112 long bed with 58K miles that I am going to change over to a 12V generator (negative ground) to keep the original-looking electrical under hood. I will use Ford voltage regulators on the gauges to keep them happily supplied with 6V.
