1986 ford f150 battery problemPosted by christian lewis on March 28, 2006 at 16:03:39 from (65.117.185.85):
my brother just bought a 1986 f-150. As soon as he started to drive it around the truck ran out of electrical power in the battery and also wouldn't stay running unless the battery was charged. He put a new alternater in it but it still has the same problem. He changed out the ground wire and battery terminals. He cleaned & tightened many of the electrical connections and componets. He put a new battery in. It still has the same problem. The battery will not stay charged. It will run as long as the battery is charged on a battery charger but it doesn't take long until the battery is dead and the truck ceases to run. what could it be?
