Need to ID '76 f250 running gear

Looking at a 1976 ford f250. Where will I find the engine serial#. Will the front and rear differentials be easily identified if the tags are gone? How "bout the tranny serial # and ID? I am about to look through my manuals but I don't have anything past '71. Any help will be appreciated.
