'53 Fargo 251 CID engine questionPosted by James on August 20, 2005 at 11:42:12 from (154.11.109.30):
I'm restoring a '53 Fargo 2 ton with a Chrysler flathead and I think I may have an agricultural engine in it. The correct engine should be silver in color for it's year and be a 251 CID. It is a 25 1/2" Canadian block. The engine serial number should start with TX315. The engine in the truck is blue and the engine serial number starts with P15C. Also the casting date at the bottom left near the oil fill tube has G228 stamped there. Can anyone tell me what type of engine this is and it'CID? Were agricultural flatheads all blue? Thanks for any info!
