1985 Ford F150 w/ a Straight 6 won't run smooth orPosted by Phillip on May 29, 2005 at 18:10:38 from (69.68.111.250):
I recently aquired an 85 F150 with an inline 6 cylinder engine. It will start and run, but it runs very rough and it won't idle, it just dies if you don't keep the gas depressed a little bit. Sounds like it might be missing on at least one cylinder, but have put new plugs, wires, a distributer cap and adjusted the timing. Thinking that the rocker arms might have been tightened down to much but don't know for sure, could this be the cause of the problem, or could it effect the engine in some other way? Or maybe there's something else that I don't know to look at, any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
