I would not pull any leaves out of a stack as this leaves them prone to breakage at the center bolt hole. The better option if dealing with just the springs is to either match to a monoleaf used in other applications that have the same weight load and dimensions, or to take the springs to a spring manufacturer and have them "re-arched" in the direction you want them. They could probably set you up with a set of new springs to accomplish exactly what you want to do. I have seen some foolish people try to do it with just a torch where they bent the eye of the main leaf, but this is such a bad idea I only mention it as a very bad idea.
