truck choicePosted by Pitch on April 18, 2002 at 23:23:11 from (168.215.109.99):
I have been looking for a beater truck in the 2000 and under range. I am building a home and need some capacity that a half ton won't handle. My problem is, is that all the 3/4 tons in that price range are extremely beat or 4wd which I really don't want. I have located three fair one tons that are in my price range tho. What would be the advantage/ dis advantas of the one ton over a 3/4 besides two extra tires to buy and maintain? Is there a major mileage difference int he two of them? Two of the three are fords and one dodge all have v-8 and standards. One ford was an ex nursury truck with a ten foot stake bed and the other ford is an 8' flat bed farm truck set up for a gooseneck trailer.
